Saturday Night Main Event
The Dinner By Jay Kirschenmann
There were a lot of kids in our class. In 1975, Central High School had 423 students registered for our senior year.
We joked at the reunion about next time making the name typeface REALLY BIG on the name tags! There were 114 classmates at the reunion, and about 45 guests/spouses/significant others.
We all had our circle of friends back in high school, but 50 years later it’s fun to get to know some of the hundreds of other students who we might not have had much or any contact with.

I want to thank the reunion committee for all of your hard work and time, it was a really great weekend.
I had so much fun catching up with so many old friends, some that I hadn’t seen or talked to in 50 years. It was a weekend full of great memories and, of course some embarrassing ones too.
I do want to thank Greg Poe for sharing the poem about the Senior Lounge closing. I had not heard it before Saturday night and it gave me an opportunity to deliver a long overdue apology to my classmates. Also, thanks to the author of the poem, whom I had a great conversation with during the Elementary school picture session, I really loved the creativity and wit!!
The events of the night have also given me an opportunity to reflect on the personal irony of the situation, I served 13 years on 2 different school boards, 6 years as President on one of them. The “adult school board member me” would have undoubtedly suspended the “student me”. 😎
